Tannoy Tweeter Speaker User Manual

The SuperTweeter is designed to provide the extended high frequency
response demanded by modern programme material and sources.
It not only resolves fine detail of high frequency notes but also
effectively enhances the listening experience even at lower frequencies.
Extending the frequency response by two octaves corrects time and
phase response within the bandwidth of normal human hearing.
Music contains transient information and rich harmonics beyond the
range of human hearing for pure tones. Even low frequency notes
have leading edge transients reaching 30kHz. By operating between
the roll-off point of your existing speakers and 54kHz, the SuperTweeter
will accurately reproduce the leading edge of individual notes allowing
the listener to experience the entire bandwidth information of
PRESTIGE ST200 SUPERTWEETER
instruments. The SuperTweeter provides an increased
immediacy, airiness and impact - making music
sound more natural and true to life.
Although initially conceived to complement the current
Tannoy Prestige HE range, from Stirling up to
Westminster Royal, it will also find application with
many earlier Tannoy classic designs; previous Prestige
models, HPD, Monitor Gold or Monitor Silver for
example. Adjustments are provided for crossover
frequency and level.
The Tannoy Dual Concentric™ will still provide the
heart of the musical information as a coherent point
source. Extreme high frequencies can then be
supplemented by the SuperTweeter to provide
incredible wideband detail.
