Speaker Construction:
Your Speco Technologies’ AWX Speakers are constructed of a
high-end UV / water resistant, fiberglass-filled ABS plastic to ensure
countless years of use and enjoyment.
The durable casing can be cared for and cleaned for by wiping it
down occasionally with a household glass cleaning solution.
Your AWX speakers are weatherproof and will not be affected by
exposure to normal weather conditions, however these speaker
should never be submerged in water.
Connecting and Mounting Your Speakers:
Please follow the following directions for using your AWX speakers:
Connecting:
It is important that before making any connections with the speaker
terminals on your AWX Speakers that your power source, amplifier
and/or receiver, is completely off. After the power source is off,
carefully untighten the red and black terminal connects on the back
of the speakers by turning them counterclockwise until the
mounting holes in the underlying screw terminal are visible.
Pass the positive/red connection wire from your amplifier through
the underlying screw hole on the red terminal, and then tighten the
terminal securely by turning clockwise until the speaker wire is
secure. Do likewise with the negative/black speaker wire from your
amplifier on the black connection terminal.
Due to the extremely strong power ratings of these speakers
we recommend a minimum of 14 gauge wire or heavier for the
connections. We also recommend waterproof speaker wire for
outdoor applications.
