The Sound Advance
®
ST2432D SpeakerTile
®
is a remarkable combination of widebandwidth, wide dispersion, and a highly-
refined aesthetic presentation, designed for commercial installations. It is part of a unique family of truly invisible distributed
sound products from Sound Advance. All ST2432D SpeakerTile models are available in several mounting options, allowing
them to be easily installed into standard T-bar suspended ceiling systems, completely replacing a standard 2' x 2' ceiling tile.
The ST2432D is available in six different models, featuring a selection of standard 3-dimensional patterns or factory-applied
surface finishes that allow a match with almost any suspended ceiling tile pattern. The white Expanded PolyStyrene (EPS)
front surface of the speaker tile allows all models to optionally be finished on-site with any water-soluble finish, such as
latex paint, or covered with light wallpaper, fabrics and selected texture coats,* further enhancing the SpeakerTile’s ability to
blend invisibly with almost any interior design choice. Patented Planar Diaphragm Technology™ allows a ST2432D that has
been properly installed in a suspended ceiling to radiate sound in a 140° hemispherical pattern with smooth, even coverage.
This dispersion characteristic allows ST2432D speakers to be spaced farther apart than narrow-dispersion conventional
speakers, reducing the total quantity of loudspeakers required in almost any installation.
The ST2432D is a two-way, full-range device that utilizes a crossover centered at 1,200Hz, with 12dB per octave slopes for
both low-pass and high-pass sections. The ST2432D is transformer-coupled, with the following input taps: 0.5W, 1W, 2W,
4W, 8W, 16W, 32W and 8-ohm bypass. An optional PBB 2.0 backbox is available, and is recommended for use when the
SpeakerTile is installed in air handling spaces. An optional ECS enclosure compensation module is available, to optimize
performance when the ST2432D is used with the PBB 2.0.
*Please contact Sound Advance for advice before applying any textured coating, light wallpaper or fabrics to the ST2432D.
