RR-927 Remote Control
In addition to the Second Zone functions the RR-927 remote con-
trol duplicates most of the functions of the RA-985BX front panel
controls. It can also operate all current 900 series remote control-
lable components. Depending on the components you have, it may
be necessary to reprogram the RR-927 with a new “code” using
the procedure described in the “Reprogramming” section. The
RR-927 is initially preset to operate the following components:
Amplifier (code A2) – RA-985BX, RA-945, RC-995
Tuner (code B1) – RTC-940AX, RX-950AX, RT-940AX
CD Player (code C1) – RCD-970BX, RCD-975
Cassette Deck (code D1) – RD-960BX
Reprogramming
To reprogram the RR-927 to operate a component other than those
previously listed,
simultaneously
press the letter button and num-
ber for that component. See the table below for the letters/num-
ber combinations for various components.
Amplifier and Preamplifier codes: (“A” is “Amp / Standby” button)
A1 - RTC-940AX, RTC-950AX, RX-950AX
A2 - RA-985BX, RA-945, RC-972, RC-995
A4 - RC-990BX
Tuner codes: (“B” is “Tuner” button)
B1 - RTC-940BX, RTC-950AX, RX-950AX, RT-940AX
B4 - RT-990BX
CD Player codes: (“C” is “CD” button)
C1 - RCD-970BX, RCD-975, RCD-945AX / 955AX / 965BX
C2 - RCC-935, RCD-940BX, RCC-940AX
C3 - RCC-955, RCD-930AX, RCD-951, RCD971
Cassette Decks: (“D” is “Tape 1” button)
D1 - RD960BX
Examples: To reprogram the RR-927 to operate the RT-990BX tuner,
simultaneously press the Tuner button
and the 4 button. To re-
program the RR-927 to operate the RCD-930AX CD player simul-
taneously press the CD button
and the 3 button.
Other Remote Control Fuctions
The information that follows assumes the amplifier control func-
tions of the RR-927 are being used to operate the RA-985BX. Con-
trol functions for other components will vary.
Standby Power Buttons

Press these buttons to turn on the RA-985BX or tuner. Press them
again to return the components to standby mode.
Mute Button

Press the Mute button to mute the output of the RA-985BX. Press
it again to restore normal sound output. The Volume control LED
blinks when the sound is muted.
Tuner Control Buttons

These buttons duplicate the functions of the controls on the front
panels of various Rotel tuners. See the instruction manual for your
tuner for more information.
Numeric Direct Access Buttons

These button are used with both tuner and CD players. With tun-
ers the buttons are used to select preset stations. With CD players
the buttons are used to select track numbers.
To select a tuner preset station, press the Tuner button and then
the station preset number. The process for selecting higher sta-
tion presets varies depending on the model being used. For the
RT-940BX and RT-990BX press the +10 button and then the button
that equals the remainder of the preset you want to select. Ex-
ample: To select preset 14, press +10 and then 4. With the RX-
950AX, RTC-950AX and RTC-940AX the +10 button is not used.
With these components the 9 button operates like a “+8” button.
Examples: To access preset 16 press 9 (“+8”) then 8. To access
preset 9 press 9 then 1.
To select a track on a CD, press the CD button and then the track
number you want to select. The process for selecting higher track
numbers varies with the model being used. For the RCD-930AX,
press the +10 button and then the button that equals the remain-
der of the track number you want to select. Example: To select
track 15, press +10 and then 5. With the RCD-970BX, RCD-975 and
RCD-940BX press the buttons that make up the track number you
want to select. Example: to select track 17 press 1 and then 7.
Volume Control Buttons

These buttons duplicate the functions of the Volume Control on
the front panel of the RA-985BX. Press the right button (>) to in-
crease the volume level, press the left button (<) to decrease the
volume level.
Cassette Recorder Control Buttons

These buttons duplicate the functions of the similarly marked but-
tons on Rotel cassette decks. See the instruction manual for your
cassette recorder for more information.
Surround Sound Processor Buttons

These buttons duplicate the function of many of the controls on
Rotel surround sound processors. See the instruction manual for
your processor for more information.
CD Player Control Buttons
