TROUBLESHOOTING
If you have a problem with the amplifier, first be sure all connections are correct and secure. If
the problem continues, check the following troubleshooting information for a solution.
This amplifier has been manufactured to the specifications of RadioShack and is covered by a
limited warranty from RadioShack. If your amplifier is not operating as it should, take it to
your local RadioShack store or call 1-800-THE-SHACK for assistance.
Problem Solution
No sound from
the speakers
Headphones are connected to the amplifier. Unplug the headphones.
The source selector is set to the wrong audio source. Set the selector to
the correct source.
VOLUME
is set too low. Turn
VOLUME
clockwise.
If you connect a CD or tape player to the back panel and another to
the front panel, the back panel jacks are disabled. Disconnect the
player from the front panel jacks.
No stereo sound
MONO
is pressed in. Press
MONO
to the out position.
BALANCE
is set all the way to one side. Adjust the control.
The speaker connections are incorrect. Turn off the amplifier and
correct the connections.
Distorted or
weak sound
VOLUME
is set too high or too low.
The speaker connections are incorrect. Turn off the amplifier and
correct the connections.
The
MAG/CER
setting is incorrect. Set it to the correct position.
MONO
is pressed in while you listen to a stereo source. Press
MONO
to the out position.
Cannot record The connections between the tape deck and the amplifier’s
L
and
R
TAPE OUT
jacks are incorrect or loose. Turn off the amplifier and
correct the connections.
The source selector is set to the wrong audio source. Set the selector to
the source you want to record.
If you connect a CD or tape player to the back panel and another to
the front panel, the back panel jacks are disabled. Disconnect the
player from the front panel jacks.
