RBH Sound MCS-88 Speaker User Manual

RBH in-wall subwoofers have been designed to make installation as easy as possible.
Upon opening the box you will notice that the retrot nylon mounting bracket is attached
to the subwoofer.
To install, slide the top of the black pinch ring into the drywall cutout opening so the
subwoofer bezel is on the outside of the drywall and the nylon retrot bracket is on the
inside. Slide the bottom of the subwoofer into the drywall the same way, then tighten
the screws. This will cause the nylon bracket to “pinch” the drywall and will hold the
speaker rmly in place. If using a drill/driver, set the clutch to a low setting to prevent
overtightening and possible damage to the frame. If using hand tools, tighten just until
rm. A cutout template is supplied with the subwoofer for your convenience in cutting
the drywall.
INSTALLATION
WIRING
When wiring from a mono amplier, connect both the positive and negative leads to the
same set of terminals, then run a set of speaker wire to the opposite set of terminals,
observing polarity. This will connect the woofers in parallel for a total of a 4 Ohm load.
This is shown in the picture below. A series connection may also be used, creating a
16 Ohm load.
When wiring from a stereo amplier, connect one set of leads to each set of terminals,
observing proper polarity. This will connect each woofer individually as an 8 Ohm load.
This is shown in the picture below.
