MA-5002VZ Power Amplifier
Operation Manual
CONDITION: Normal operation.
POSSIBLE REASON:
This is normal operation for your amp.
CONDITION: Distorted sound.
POSSIBLE REASON:
Input signal level is too high. Turn down
your amplifier level controls. NOTE: Your
amplifier should never be operated at a
level which causes the Signal/IOC LEDs
to constantly indicate an IOC condition.
6 Troubleshooting
The amp is set for Parallel Mono mode.
CONDITION: No power to the amplifier.
POSSIBLE REASON:
The amplifier's Power switch is off.
The amplifier is not plugged into the power
receptacle.
The amplifier's low-voltage power supply fuse
has blown. Return amp to Crown or an
authorized Crown Service Center for
servicing.
CONDITION: No sound.
POSSIBLE REASON:
The amplifier has just been turned on and is
still in the 4-second turn-on delay.
The amplifier is being held in Standby Mode
by an installed IQ PIP module.
The amplifier is in drive protection mode.
This can occur with improper source sig-
nals like infrasonic square waves or input
overloads that excessively clip the input
signal.
No input signal
Input signal level is very low.
Level controls are turned down.
Key
Output current is being limited because the
load impedance of the channel is too low,
or the output is shorted.
ODEP limiting has been activated. Take
appropriate measures to keep the ampifier
out of ODEP limiting (see Section 5.1.1 for
more information about ODEP).
