5.0 OPERATING THE UNIT
Before installation, please make sure all devices you wish to connect
have been turned off.
• Connect the AC adapter to the Converter’s power input (Do not
plug the adapter into an AC outlet yet).
• Connect the appropriate cables to the source device and then the
Converter.
• Connect the output cables to the Converter and then to the
destination device.
• Plug the Power Adapter into a working AC outlet.
• Power on all input and output devices.
• The DVI-HDCP input signal should now be available to all devices
connected to the device outputs. Neither converter unit has any
controls that require adjustment.
6.0 TROUBLESHOOTING
If the Converter does not appear to be functioning, make certain
that the source and destination device connected to the unit are
functioning correctly by connecting each device using a cable with
a length of 6 feet or less. (In other words, make certain that the
problem is not caused by long cables.) If the signal is present under
those conditions, make certain that the power is present to the
converter. If it is, measure the cable length you are attempting to
use between the sources to the switcher and the switcher to the
monitor. The input cables should be 6 feet or less in length and the
output cables must be less than 33 feet long and all cables should
be premium quality. Lastly, inspect the cables and connectors for
damage.
6.1 Non-HDCP Compliant Devices
If a DVI device does not appear to work, make certain that the device
is HDCP compliant. A non-HDCP compliant DVI device will not work
with a signal that has HDCP encoding present.
6.2 Cable Length
If you need to span a distance of greater than 6 feet to reach the
converter, purchase Audio Authority’s 1351 DVI Repeater which will
allow you to extend a cable run up to 40 feet using premium cable.
