The Yamaha RAV214 remote control Volume stops work...

The Yamaha RAV214 remote control Volume stops working properly after a few months use. I am in my second control and have the same problem I had with the original. Has Yamaha recognize this problem and can I get a replacement from Yamaha or its distributors free or at a reasonable price?
