Question About Yamaha Stereo System None

my friends have done something to my YHT 160 stereo system, when i turn it on it says "CHECK SP WIRES" then it works fine until i turn it up loud, then it shuts off, i think it has to do with some sort of safety regulator that i have to restart now cause my stupid friends turned it up to loud and blew past the safety regulator? please get back to me asap thank u
