I have recently bought a Play Station 3 to play video games (but mainly DVDs and Blue Rays) and I am having difficulty getting sound out of the Playstation 3 when attempting to hook it up to my Yahama HTR-5830 surround sound receiver. I have hooked it up to the optical digital input and also have used the AV Multi Out plug of the PS 3 to hook up to the DVD input on the back of the receiver. I am able to get sound from TV programming and from the tuner, so I know the speakers are hooked up OK.
