Question About Sony Stereo Receiver STR-DB940
problem with amplifier...

when i turned on the amplifier a very loud hissing sound came through the speakers although the volume was not turned up and PROTECTOR came up on the facia....

0 every time i turn on the amplifier it keeps flashing up saying protector??
