A defective tape stopped all further progress in deck #1 of the machine, producing the "E" read-out. I saw no way to proceed other than to pry the door gently open and remove the tape with a tweezers. The prying was too much for the door, so now it will not latch shut. I'm wondering if I had any other options, and if there's a fix for my non-latching door.
