i got this r-325 reciever from a friend without remote and it turns on for only about two secoonds then turns off whats the problem???

0 Hi, I have a 325 also, and mine just doesn't turn on. I looked into it about 2 years ago and (from memory) found that a transformer was not outputting correctly (it seemed). It was the little one, so I think this is either the digital control or input control power provider. But, not having the circuit diagram, I don't know what spec it should be (ie. output voltage, etc)! I think this is the overload control-type circuit also, it seems likely. If I find a diagram or the specs, I'll let you know. Sorry I can't be of more use.

0 You are describing exactly the same problem I have recently started to have, it powers up but almost instantly powers back down - this amp has seen heavy use for about 12 years (and it has nothing to do with your lack of remote) so am reluctant to pay much to get it fixed though I hate to condemn it to the landfill. Am still hunting for the manual . . . .

0 I had that problem myself. It would power up then shut off again 2 seconds later. But when I checked my speaker connection it solved the problem. It may be the the same problem with your amp.
