4 Protection can occur from undervoltage of the 12V supply and by overheating. Capacitor C33 for the +12V supply is 100uF rated for 16V and 85C. I replaced mine with a 100uF rated at 25V and 105C. I also added a 4mm 5-volt fan mounted on the fron of the power supply board to blow air on the first heat sink at the fron of the unit. I powered it from the 3.3V supply. Before all this the unit would go into protection and shut downevery 20 minutes or so, even with nothing connected to it. Now it has been working fine for over 2 days. I could supply some pictures if anyone is interested.

4 When I first seen the "PROTECTION" problem I thought it was a programming problem. I still had a take in warrantee in effect and they replaced the board for a cost value of $207.00 free under the warrantee.

3 This Works! Turn the fan around so it blows in. I had previously tried replacing the capacitor and adding another fan, but the protection problem came back. Credit for turning the fan around belongs to someone else, not me, but it works.
