At times the base unit loses power and then there is a loud hissing noise (static) which can impair your hearing. I have noticed that it happens after about 2 minutes of inactivity. Now even if I unplug the power adapter chord and plug it again, it would not start up. I have to wait for about 5 minutes to plug in and it will come back and the cycle repeats. Was wondering what the second (top) led on the base is for? Can the transmission from the base unit be picked up by an FM or some other receiver.
