I have the problem of the cd changer repeatedly changing disc after disc without playing. I took the unit apart and found what appears to be a small lens (1/8 inch circle and thickness). Is this the lens that you're speaking of? This is what I found rambling loose in the unit. If this is the lens where does it go. I can't find any specific spot where it came from. If this isn't the lens, do you know what it is?

1 With the cover off, remove the 4 screws that holds the drive motor assembly in place. (It has a ribbon cable goint to a connected on the printed circuit board. Turn the motor assy upside down and you will see the wheel with a metal insert that spins the CD. One inch away is the laser assembly. The lens goes into deep hole in that assembly. (If you turn to player on-making sure you don't zap yourself or any of the parts- you can see the red laser light shinning up through the hole.

1 Sound like the lens. Remove the motor drive assembly (4 screws) turn the assembly upside down and you will see a hole in a black plastic piece about 1 inch from the center of the drive motor. (The laser is at the bottom of the hole." If it were me I'd try to put the lens into the hole without any glue to see if it works. Probably it was designed to be a press fit. Hope it works. Mine is missing the lens also but it must have fallen out of the chassis cause I can't find it.

1 Where did you buy the lens? Barb savannaroses@satx.rr.com

1 Barb- If you find out let me know. Mine is still "lost." I did find what I think is the whole laser assembly but it was expensive - more than $75.00, and the player just isn't worth that much.

1 I didn't buy a lens. I found it loose inside the unit when I opened the outside jacket.
