I have a HTS5000W and it will not turn on. do you have any ideas? I have it for some time but it is basically new because I only use it a couple of times.

3 I have found the solution to the problem :) http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t367463-p2-philips-dvp642-problem-nothing-works.html it is very easy to fix by yourself or if you don't have the tools go to your local electronic store I am sure you will find someone willing to help you, or the local electronic club.

0 I have exactly the same problem. I bought some time ago but due to work we basically didn't use it much. Now when I need it to play some DVDs for my child is not working. It will not power on. Googling on the problem I see that this is very common problem for Philips HTS series but noone seem to has a solution. I am very far away from a service point, and even though I contact them by phone their reaction was "ooh another one" but they didn't give me any details.
