Question About CD Player zx500 or zx600

I have a insignia tv which works fine by itself. I have a concertone zx600 digital dvd player. which works fine by itself. I put in a DVD and the DVD skips sound.. thru the concertone. As far as I know I have it set up right. It has happened to over 3 movies so I am thinking it is the concection.
