Question About Marantz Stereo Receiver SR5300
Cannot switch on - Marantz sr5300...

Power position is in standby mode. I switched it on, but just work only 2 seconds then return to standby mode again. Please help me. Thanks.

5 Hi Francois.. My marantz SR5300 has been fixed by IMS - marantz service center in Jakarta. It was caused by unstable voltage of house electric. It damaged standby power system. Five transistors, one IC, and 1 trim have been replaced with new one. It costs about USD90 (USD70 for spare parts including delivery cost from singapore, and USD20 for services and 3 month guaranty). Now, as a protection I use voltage stabilizer and UPS in series before the current entering to my marantz. Gamal

4 My unit also shuts off after two seconds when I try to operate the DVD player and the tuner. I tried to reset as per manual instructions with no success. I contemplate bringing the unit for servicing but wonder if its worth the expense. Can you tell me how you dealt with your problem. Thanks! Francois
