Question About Magnavox Stereo System MAS85
can't play CD's...

i live in a VERY dusty, desert area and when my beloved 3-CD player QUIT on me, i wanted to try and clean the 'optical eye' but can't FIND it -- when i try to play CD's, it 'automatically' jumps ahead or skips to the next one, but neither the remote or manual comman to play works. is it dead after only 3-4 years ?
