Question About Kenwood Stereo Receiver eleven 111

Great clean sound 120 watt per. hooked it two a pair of 300 watt KLH speakers turned up amp half way an burnt the tweeters in one of the speakers all is good now I cut holes an put in horns It had really cleaned up the high range.I do no not to drive the KLH speakers so hard they must not be rated at 300 watts.
