when we connect the hdmi cable it keeps searching the...

when we connect the hdmi cable it keeps searching the resolution and wont stop on one. We have a flat screen tv and in the upper right corner it keeps searching resolutions. It will stop on the picture for a second and it disappears and continues to search.
