From my searches I have found this info: remove the rubber mat. There are several holes in the platter. while holding fingers in these holes, pull upward on the platter. It should lift up easily. If not, wrap a cloth around a hammer tip and tap on the center hub pin while lifting up on the platter. Some units may be reluctant and require firmer taps. Don't destroy it! It WILL come off.
