Question About Emerson Stereo System MS9700
6 CD drawer will not open...

I had 6 CD's in the drawer and the drawer would not open I have remove the 9 screws and the top to remove my cd's, however the drawer still will not open. Please inform why the drawer will not open. Is this a mfg malfunction ? Thank you in advance for your response.
