sound through car speakers?...

Using a Belkin Cassette Adapter MP3/CD/MD - Model F8V366-APL. I have inserted the cassette, and plugged it into my IPod. The IPod plays but I cannot get the sound to come out of my car speakers, only the IPod itself. What am I doing wrong?
