Product Problem: The CD tray will not enter the unit to play CDs

The unit was functioning fine when I let a friend use it for the weekend. Now I find that the CD tray keeps popping back out (default) and will not stay back in the unit either loaded with CDs or empty. I can't play any CDs on this unit now.
Any ideas on an "easy" remedy for this problem?
