Product Problem: Panasonic SG-D25 Stereo Music System

I have an old Panasonic SG-D25, which still works wonderfully. On the back panel, it has connections for a CD player (red and white). I purchased the new software by Roxio "LP to MP3" conversion. I thought I'd be able to plug the audio capture USB box (with red and white connectors) into the CD connections of the stereo. Everything connects fine, but no sounds actually record (the software acts like it is recording, but it is not). Any suggestions? Thank you!

I own a pair of Event 20/20 as well as a pair of 20/20 bas powered speakers. Both pairs are in great condition but I was wondering if I need to do anything to keep the speakers in perfect shape such as using a cleaner or moisterizer, etc. They are by far the best sounding monitors I've ever owned and having had them for several years, I need to know how to keep them in the perfect condition they are in.
