2. CAUTIONS DURING PRESENTATIONS
When the power is turned off from the remote control unit or using the tact switch on the rear panel, the input
function, MULTI ON/OFF (peripheral brightness selection), VIDEO MUTE ON/OFF, COMBI ON/OFF (ABL link-
ing selection), COLOR MODE 1/2 (white balance selection), TV system selection and convergence memory
status are only stored in the last memory if the adjustment mode has been canceled (when the conditions
have been set in the adjustment mode). (The settings are not stored in the last memory when the AC power
is turned on and off.)
When the entire system is started up or stopped by turning the AC power on and off for permanent installa-
tions, store the settings in the last memory using the above operation before turning the AC power on and
off.
The main methods for muting the picture during presentations are described in [1] to [3] below.
[1] Setting by external computer command
Example: To mute the picture of the unit with ID number 11
11 A OF = 11 IN
(picture muted) (input switching/picture mute canceled)
:1 = To set the input function to VIDEO
2 = To set the input function to Y/C
3 = To set the input function to RGB
[2] Setting by remote control unit or computer
VIDEO MUTE ON: Picture is muted for about 0.4 to 0.5 seconds only each time the input function (VIDEO, Y/
C and RGB) is switched.
VIDEO MUTE OFF: Picture is not muted even when the input function is switched.
[3] Setting when switching between NTSC and PAL signal by computer
The picture may be disturbed momentarily due to the time required to switch the TV system. If the picture is
heavily disturbed, mute it using the procedure described below.
Example: Muting the picture when switching from NTSC to PAL
Initial value: TV SYSTEM = AUTO (For details, refer to Chapter 4, “(2) TV system” (page 69).)
NTSC signal input: CONV.MEMO-1
PAL signal input: CONV.MEMO-2
Convergence: Already adjusted
Input function: Fixed
However, when switched to PAL signal, <AON> sent after over 1 second has passed.
