Network Router or Hub
Proper conguration of the Denon A/V component to work on a particular Network Environment
Ethernet ‘Straight’ Cable for Direct connection to the Network Environment
If you did not install, or congure, the Denon A/V Component with your Network Environment, please
contact your Network Installer/Integrator to assist.
If connecting the Denon A/V Component to your Network Environment for the rst time, please read the
following sections in the ‘Instruction Manual’ provided with your component.
Once the Denon A/V Component is connected and congured properly to your Network Environment,
please test that you can receive and listen to Internet Radio stations on the ‘Net//USB’ input.
This will show you have, at a minimum, a good Internet connection to the component.
Be sure NOT to 'Power Off' the unit during the upgrade process as this will cause a failure in the
process.
If this does occur and the unit will not respond normally, please contact Denon USA Customer Service at 1-800-497-8921.
Denon A/V Components are not compatible with PPPoE (Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet).
Contact you Internet Service Provider (ISP) to assist in procuring a PPPoE Router.
Denon A/V Components are not UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) compliant.
This could be an issue with some routers on the market (we have seen this on some NetGear products). You can disable UPnP in the
router’s setup conguration, however changing this setting can affect the normal operation of other devices on your Network.
Contact your Router manufacturer for assistance.
Some ‘Firewall’ settings in your network router may not permit the Upgrading functionality of Denon A/V
Components.
Contact your Router manufacturer for assistance.
Be sure to DISABLE "VPN" on any PC on your network environment.
Company or ofce network connections will cause a failure in the process.

Key Notes on Network Environment Congurations
Two-way Communication of Denon RC-7000CI/RC-7001RCI
Please be note, DSX feature upgrade disables two-way communication of the Denon RC-7000CI remote and RC-7001RCI RF repeater
via RS-232C. Once feature upgrade is installed, two-way functionality of RC-7000CI/7001RCI is no longer available. If you want to keep
using the RC-7000CI and 7001RCI, do not perform the feature upgrade.
The Upgrade Firmware will NOT reset the system setup congurations of your Denon A/V component.
Note that after upgrading the DSX Feature, you will need to re-calibrate your system using the Audyssey MultEQ function in the
component. This is required for you to get the best level of performance.
