Ashly SRA-120 Stereo System User Manual

SRA-120
The power amplifier, being of two channels, shall deliver a minimum power of
45 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohm loads and 60 watts RMS per channel into 4
ohms. When switched into Bridged-Mono mode, the amplifier shall deliver a total
of 120 watts RMS into 8 ohms. The amplifier shall be immune to damage from
shorted, open, or mismatched loads and shall feature independent thermal protec-
tion, turn on delay, and instantaneous turn-off. The amplifier shall have a gain of
26 dB + .2dB per channel. The input sensitivity shall be selectable between
.775Vrms or .245Vrms via a rear panel switch. Frequency response shall be 20Hz to
20kHz + .2dB. The amplifier shall be stable into any load, including pure capaci-
tors and inductors. Hum and noise shall be at least 100dB below full output and
SMPTE intermodulation distortion shall be less than .01% at full output. To mini-
mize hum and reduce overall weight, the unit shall utilize a toroidal power supply
transformer.
The amplifier shall have rear panel switching for mono or stereo and bridging
modes. The inputs shall be of balanced bridging type with both 1/4” phone and
barrier strip connections located on the rear panel of the unit. A ground lift strap
shall be provided to float the input ground from chassis ground if necessary. An
input jack on the front panel shall be provided for connection of stereo head-
phones. A separate attenuator control for each channel shall also be located on the
front panel. There shall be status L.E.D.’s for each channel on the front panel of
the amplifier to indicate signal present, clip alert, and “protect mode”. Power
requirements of the amplifier shall be 350W max, 30W idle @ 120VAC, 50Hz-
60Hz. For use in other countries, the unit shall also be available as a 240VAC
model. The unit shall be one rack space (1.75”) high and no more than 10” deep.
The amplifier must be convection-cooled, with large, extruded aluminum heat sinks
with vertically oriented fins located on each side of the unit. The shipping weight
of the unit shall be 20 pounds. The amplifier shall be covered under a full limited
warranty of not less than five years. The amplifier must be made in the USA. The
amplifier shall be the model SRA-120, manufactured by Ashly Audio, Inc. of
Rochester, New York.
