connecting to tv

my home theatre system was originally connected to a toshiba tv and I had no problems. After moving house I reconnected it to the same tv and could get audio playback but not video. I then connected it to a different tv, a sony, and still the same problem. I don't know if I am missing a cable or there is another issue.
