Can You Help With These Problems?

  DVD Player wont play
  The DVD player will not play it reads waitting, I do not have the actual remote for it, I do have a phillips universal remote. How do I get my system to play my DVDs' again?

  Am i suppose to be able to watch a movie on cable and have it be surround sound..if so please help

  plays in sterio not surround
  some 1 put a cd in that was in diffrent format,,,now only plays in sterio
