batteries in boat went dead ovr the winter. everything charged back up but remote doesnt work. seem to remember a programming procedure when i first got the remote. cant find owners man. that states how to program. can anyone help?

Defeat mode
My stereo has a mind of its own. It wont let me push any buttons. Only sometimes will it let me turn the volume up and down. It constantly says "defeat mode".

CDA9884 loose faceplate connection
For the first 20 minutes or so after starting the car, I cannot change the volume or station. The lights blink randomly, also. After 20 minutes or so, it's fine. Seems to be a connection problem with the faceplate.

Since my radio battery was disconnected, my radio gives two bleeps every minute or so? Battery has been off before and this has not happened! Doesn't happen with CD player.
